Diamonds are formed over a period of a billion or more years,
Deep within earth’s crust,most diamonds are found in volcanic rocks,called kimberlite.it was only 15th century that the only way to cut diamond is by using another diamond.
The World largest diamond was cullinan found in south Africa in 1905.it’s weighed 3106.75 carats,uncut.This was cut into the great star of Africa,weighing 530.2 carats,the Lesser star of Africa,which weighs 317.40 carats.
The World’s largest documented polished diamond-unearthed in 1986,also in south Africa-is called the Unnamed
Brown.It weighed 545 carats.Another diamond that took as long to cut also forms part of the British crown jewels,is the cenetary diamond.it weighed 273.85 carats and is the world’s largest flawless diamond.
All the diamonds are not white .Impurities lend them a shade of blue,red,orange,yellow,green and even black.A green diamonds are rarest.
If you placed the diamond in the oven and raised the temperature to about 763 degree Celsius then it would vanish without a trace,hard to believe but a true
